An ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging test that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time pictures of the inside of your body. Unlike X-rays, it doesn’t use radiation, making it a preferred choice for many types of diagnostics, including pregnancy, organ health, and blood flow studies. At Open MRI 17, we use advanced ultrasound technology to provide accurate, fast, and comfortable scans.
During your ultrasound, a trained technologist applies a small amount of gel on the area being examined and moves a handheld device called a transducer across your skin. The process is painless and typically takes between 15–30 minutes. You’ll be able to resume your day immediately after the scan.
Preparation for an ultrasound depends on the type of scan you’re having. Some exams may require you to fast for a few hours, while others may ask you to drink water beforehand. Our team provides clear instructions before your appointment to ensure the best results.
